About Dr. Bray

Dr. Robert E. Bray’s experience as an equine and animal nutritionist comes from many years as a professor, scientist, and lifelong horseman. His knowledge and passion in equine nutrition led him to formulate the full Integrity product line of horse feeds for Star Milling in 2004.

Dr. Bray is Professor Emeritus in Animal & Veterinary Sciences of California State Polytechnic University in Pomona, CA. He received his Ph.D. in animal nutrition from the University of Maryland and conducted his Ph.D. research at the Non-ruminant Animal Nutrition Laboratory, Beltsville Agricultural Research Center, USDA.

In his early teens, Dr. Bray began working with horses. In addition to his professorial and consulting work, he has managed horse farms, bred, raised, and shown horses, tracked and conducted research with wild horses, and packed and conducted research with horses in the High Sierras. Dr. Bray is well published in the sciences for horses and zoo animals. He is frequently an invited speaker and has written three manuals on equine care and nutritional management.

He has served on several animal industry boards including research advisor to the Bureau of Land Management Wild Horse & Burro Advisory Board, board member of the World Pet Association, review manuscripts for the Journal of Equine Veterinary Science, sabbatical and graduate students at the San Diego Zoo & San Diego Wild Animal Park, advisor to the Animal Welfare Advisory Board for the Los Angeles County Fair, and board member for the Development Advisory Board, UC Davis Department of Animal Science.
